Everyone place your bets, get ready and they’re racing!
Melbourne Cup last week saw a flurry of excitement at Narangba Aged Care. Residents and staff dressed to impress for the big day putting on their fascinators and hats.
The excitement grew throughout the day as the race drew closer. Residents took a punt on a horse and got comfortable in their box seat to watch the mighty race. They had their own blinkers on as they sat fixed to the large screen television for the major event of the day – watching the horses’ race for the Melbourne Cup.
Weather their horse was a long shot, on the rails or a favourite, residents cheered as their horse came in and crossed the finish line.
To help get everyone in the swing of the festivities, the home was decorated to a Horse Racing theme. There was plenty of great food and drinks to help celebrate the occasion. It was a fun day had by all.
