Celebrating Community Moments at Narangba Aged Care – September Highlights 2025

September has been a month filled with connection, reflection and celebration at Narangba Aged Care, where our vibrant community atmosphere continues to thrive.

We began the month by bidding farewell to our precious baby chickens. Their time with us brought immense love and joy to our residents, families, and staff. We also enjoyed a delightful visit from Sideling, a cheerful and cheeky bear who brought smiles all around. Nothing brings people together like a friendly match, and we all had a great time enjoying a game of quoits.

A special highlight was a touching two-part event featuring our resident Patrick, who shared the remarkable story of his 50-year journey with his mates and his beloved car, Bubsie, now 100 years old. Patrick's story was displayed with photos and articles, and we even had the car itself visit us—an unforgettable moment. Afterward, we gathered in the Café, shared tea, and celebrated Patrick’s journey with heartfelt laughter and smiles.

Music played a key role this month, with the return of the Brass Band bringing joy to everyone. Fathers’ Day was another standout event, celebrated with hamburgers, chilled beer, and great conversation among residents.

Darrel’s sing-alongs and dances added more fun, and R U OK DAY was observed with a heartfelt afternoon tea and meaningful discussions about mental health. We also enjoyed Happy Hour, featuring musical instruments and joyful engagement, and had a fun week of milkshakes, Scrabble, arts and crafts.

To close the month, we hosted The Roaring 1920 Gatsby, a dazzling event with fabulous dress-ups, delicious food, and an enchanting performance by Nathan the magician, leaving us all spellbound.

Our vibrant community atmosphere continues to be the heart of everything we do, and September has been a beautiful reflection of that spirit.
