Narangba Aged Care activities: April 2026
April at Narangba was a month that moved between celebration and reflection with equal grace. From International Pink Day and a visit from the Brass Band to a sunny morning on the golf course and a heartfelt ANZAC Day service, Narangba aged care activities in April captured everything this community does best – connection, care, and showing up for one another.
Easter celebrations
The Easter period brought warmth and good cheer to Narangba, with residents and staff coming together to mark the occasion. Happy Easter was extended to all – a simple but genuine wish that reflected the community spirit that runs through everything we do here.
International Pink Day
One of the standout moments of the month was our International Pink Day celebration. Residents and staff showed their support by wearing pink – a visible act of solidarity with a movement that stands against bullying, discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia, and in favour of acceptance, courage, and inclusivity.
The celebration was everything it should have been: fantastic music, a sea of pink across the room, and – perhaps most importantly – pink cupcakes that made the occasion feel as festive as it was meaningful. It was a day that said something about who we are as a community, and we were proud to be part of it.
Golf on a beautiful Friday morning
When a sunny Friday morning presents itself, there is really only one thing to do. Residents headed outside for a game of golf, making the most of the weather and the company. It was relaxed, enjoyable, and exactly the kind of morning that reminds everyone how good it feels to be active and outdoors together.
Bocce and live keyboard music
A game of Bocce brought some friendly competition to the month, while the wonderful Edward set up his keyboard in the sideline house and provided a live musical backdrop to the afternoon. It was one of those quietly lovely days that does not need a headline to be remembered fondly.
The Brass Band visits
The Brass Band made one of their much-loved visits to Narangba this month, and the response from residents was as enthusiastic as ever. There is something about live brass music that lifts the spirit in a way that is difficult to explain but impossible to miss. We are grateful for their continued visits and already looking forward to the next one.
ANZAC Day – a service to remember
Narangba aged care activities paused on ANZAC Day for a service that carried real weight and meaning. Residents, staff, and families gathered to honour the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of the men, women, and animals who have served our nation – those who gave their lives, and those who returned carrying the legacy of service with them.
A very special thank you goes to Narangba Valley State High School for their contribution to the service. Their involvement made the occasion all the more meaningful, and the connection between generations that it represented was something genuinely moving. Lest we forget.
April was a reminder that Narangba aged care activities are about far more than filling a calendar. They are about building a community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and genuinely connected to the people and moments around them.
